      <image:title>About Me - Hi, my name is Catherine.</image:title>
      <image:caption>I really love what I do. My job is to build deep and meaningful connections that can help to facilitate growth and healing. I couldn’t be more grateful I get to do this kind of work everyday. I always knew I wanted to work with people and always saw myself in a helping role.  In my mid-twenties I went back to school and got a Masters of Science in Social Work from UT Austin. Prior to starting my own private practice I worked as a mental health counselor for an Employee Assistance Program with Goodwill Central Texas and with a group practice that specialized in supporting Highly Sensitive People. I’ve been fortunate enough to build relationships with lots of different kinds of people from many different walks of life over the course of my clinical career. This background allows me to embrace where you are non-judgmentally and help you to understand yourself on a deeper level.  Social justice is very important to me, I chose to get a degree in social work rather than another counseling degree in an effort to prioritize those values through out my career. In my free time I enjoy yoga, traveling, camping, cooking and spending time with family, friends and my dog Emma.  All of the photographs on my website are pictures I have taken while on various outdoor adventures over the years.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Approach &amp; Specialties</image:title>
      <image:caption>My approach to therapy is informed by interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory and modern psychoanalysis. It is grounded in research-based modalities including Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. From a strong relational attachment foundation we can work together to embrace vulnerable parts of you with compassion to heal past trauma. I have found yoga, meditation and mindfulness to be hugely beneficial. I often bring somatic-based experiential therapy approaches into sessions. Together we will listen to your body, learn to understand your emotional responses and respond accordingly. I am also trained in EMDR Therapy, we can utilize this tool to help process significant traumatic memories and help you move on from any experiences that may be holding you back. Finally, I am committed to using anti-racist and inclusive language in the therapy room at all times.</image:caption>
